Traffic stop leads to arrest, drugs, and guns seized
HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say a man was arrested after a traffic stop led to various drugs and stolen guns being seized.
According to the Hazleton City Police Department, on January 15 around 2:30 p.m., officers pulled over a car driven by Frederick Clinkscales, 47, of Philadelphia, for equipment violations.
Police say once they saw the car was occupied by Clinkscales and a “known female drug user” detectives saw several “indicators of criminal activity” leading to a search warrant.
Clinkscales allowed officers to search the car and investigators stated the following items were seized;
$1,921 in cash
Five small clear plastic ziplock baggies with blue glassine packets containing suspected fentanyl
Black Ruger handgun that was reported stolen
Silver and black Kahr Arms handgun that was reported lost
Magazines and ammunition
Three phones
Officers noted during the traffic stop the woman inside the car was arrested after she discarded several items of drug paraphernalia onto the roadway.

Hazleton City Police stated the investigation continued to a local motel where inside the room were 20 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 48 baggies containing suspected fentanyl discovered in a locked bag.
Clinkscales faces various drug and gun charges. His bail was set at $175,000 and remains in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
