Traffic piled up on Highway 41 due to four-vehicle collision. Some sustained injury

Highway 41 northbound in Fresno was backed up early Saturday evening following a collision involving four vehicles.

That’s causing major delays for those trying to go to the Fresno State football home opener close to kickoff with the game scheduled to start at 6 p.m. from Valley Children’s Stadium.

California Highway Patrol said the right and middle lanes of Highway 41 were closed off from the Dakota Avenue exit up to the Shaw Avenue exit, leaving just one lane to keep vehicles moving.

While no details were immediately given of how the four-vehicle crash occurred, CHP said no serious injuries were suffered. Some, however, sustained minor injuries, CHP added.

Fresno State hosts Eastern Washington and is expecting a crowd in the high 30,000 range and might sell out its home opener.
