Traffic delays on the George Washington Bridge into New York City

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — There are extensive traffic delays on the George Washington Bridge into New York City on Wednesday, officials said.

There are delays of around 45 minutes on the upper level of the GWB, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The lower level is seeing delays of around 30 minutes.

Both levels had delays of over an hour due to volume early Wednesday morning, according to Port Authority New Jersey on X.

The George Washington Bridge Bus Station was reopened around 10 a.m. after being closed for “police activity” earlier Wednesday morning, according to Port Authority.

It was not immediately clear what caused the traffic delays. However, Wednesday’s wet weather made for longer commutes across the tri-state area.
