TRAFFIC ALERT: Trailer flipped on St. Mary’s and Buena Vista Road

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The public may want to avoid a well-trafficked area in east Columbus for the time being.

As of about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, traffic is heavily backed up due to an overturned trailer near St. Mary’s Road and Buena Vista Road. According to the Columbus Police Department, crews are on scene cleaning up an oil spill from that trailer.

The traffic is backed up through I-185 North from Buena Vista Road well past the St. Mary’s Road access exit. A portion of the interstate is entirely closed.
