Traffic Alert! OR 217 in Tigard to close for the weekend

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Get ready for a big road closure this weekend!

The Oregon Department of Transportation will close Highway 217 between Greenburg Road and 99W, in both directions, starting Friday evening, as a part of the highway’s improvement project. It will be closed starting at 9 p.m. Friday and run until 5 a.m. Monday.

The closure will allow crews to demolish the Hall Boulevard overpass.

Several on-ramps in the area will also be affected by this closure and ODOT is encouraging traffic to avoid the area or find alternative routes.

Portland International Airport expecting increase in 2024 spring break travel

The closure is part of ODOT’s OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which will build additional lanes in both directions between the Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and OR 99W.

The project is scheduled for completion at the end of 2025.
