Trader Joe's Latest Nut Milk Might Be Its Best

All of the different non-dairy milks being introduced can feel overwhelming. It feels like every week there’s a new type of alternative milk, whether it’s a spin on almond milk, or a new cashew milk we've never tried.

But Trader Joe's might have the best new addition to the alt-milk aisle. Their new product is actually a cross between three different nuts, blended together for optimal creaminess.

Trader Joe's newest milk is a blend of almond, cashew, and macadamia nuts, and it’s sweet without any added sugars (in fact, there's no sugar at all!) It’s also amazingly low in calories for being such a creamy treat. An entire cup has just 30 calories, 2.5g of fat, and 0g of sat fat. It sounds too good to be true, especially when you learn that each bottle costs only $2.29.

"Why have one nut when you can have three?," Trader Joe's product release reads. "This question, posed by one of our intrepid Product Developers, was the driving force that spurred her to seek out a nut-based beverage for the ages—one that would rise above the rest, the creamiest, dreamiest, nut-based beverage on the market."

A few Trader Joe's fans have taken to social media to say that this brand new milk is distinctly nut-like in its flavor profile, without being overtly sweet like other shelf-stable nut milks. It sounds like the nutty milk would be a delicious addition to your morning latte or bowl of cereal.

Maggie Michalczyk, a registered dietitian who is also the face of the wellness blog Once Upon a Pumpkin, gave Trader Joe's newest milk a shoutout via Instagram and showcased how the milk transformed her favorite early morning oats recipe.

She echoed many of the same sentiments found in online chatter about the new milk, writing: "Added this new NUTTY, smooth, CREAMY milk from TJ’s to my cold pumpkin zucchini oats and it came out oh so luscious."

This milk, which is now being sold at every TJ's in America (you can see the full nutritional information right here), seems to be everything we'd hope for in a new Trader Joe's must-have: It's gluten-free, soy-free, vegan, and Kosher, which makes it a perfect addition to nearly any Trader Joe's fan's pantry.
