Sections of Highway 101 and Highway 102 are expected to be closed for several hours after a tractor-trailer fell from a highway overpass near Bedford, N.S., on Thursday afternoon.

Nova Scotia RCMP were called to the scene just after 2 p.m.

Photos posted online of the incident appear to show that the tractor-trailer crashed through the guardrail on Highway 101 and landed on its wheels across Highway 102.

Nova Scotia RCMP say there haven't been any reports of injuries so far.

The photos show a school bus close to where the tractor-trailer landed, but the two didn't collide.

Police confirmed the bus had children on it.

"It's certainly a traumatic event for anyone on the school bus witnessing such a big crash ahead of you. I'm sure although they weren't physically injured, it would be traumatic psychologically," Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay said.

Tremblay said the cause of the crash is unclear.

He said anyone heading toward the area can expect delays and detours as the site gets cleared.

"Highway 102 is currently closed and Highway 101 has reduced the lanes. At this time, all traffic is being detoured into Lower Sackville from Highway 102," he said.
