TRACKING: Nicole, upgraded to hurricane, to make Florida landfall

TRACKING NICOLE
Hurricane Nicole will make landfall Wednesday night along the east coast of Florida.
The storm has maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and is moving west at 12 mph
The storm will cross the Florida peninsula then north into Georgia and the Carolinas, passing over the mountains.
This will be a storm that will last about 24 hours.
It will start to rain late Thursday afternoon with steadier showers and possible thunderstorms later that night.
Highs on Thursday will be in the low-60s and on Friday, in the low-70s.
Charlotte is expected to see about 1 inch of rain. East of Mecklenburg County, totals could be between 1 and 2 inches.
The mountains will see more rain, about 2 to 4 inches.
Localized flooding is the highest risk.
Quick spin-up tornadoes are possible to the west, with that risk peaking during mid-morning Friday into the afternoon.
Conditions will immediately clear up for the weekend with high temperatures on Saturday in the upper-60s.
Sunday’s high will be in the low-50s.
Lows on Sunday night will dip to around 33 degrees.
