Toyota officially revealed the facelifted Corolla recently through images. Now this refreshed sedan has been spotted in production form on the streets of Turkey.

The Corolla Altis gets many cosmetic changes that include reworked headlamps with DRLs, new grille and a revised bumper sporting a different air dam in the front. The side profile boasts of a new pattern for the 16- as well as 17-inch alloy wheels. A redesigned tail lamp with a chrome strip can be seen at the back.

The cabin is also expected to be upgraded, the details of which are not yet revealed. Reports suggest that the Corolla will feature technological updates like Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Road Sign Assist (RSA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB).

There won’t be any changes to the powertrain and the same engine line-up from the existing car will be carried over. The petrol version will get the 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol mill with VVT-i that churns out 138bhp of power and 173Nm of torque. The diesel version will be powered by the four-cylinder 1.4-litre diesel engine that produces 88.4bhp of power and 205Nm of torque. Both these engine options come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Toyota is readying the Corolla facelift for launch in the European markets. Turkey is the production house for these markets. However, we can only expect this sedan to come to our country sometime later in 2017. This might be especially after the carmaker brings in the new Fortuner for the Indian market.
