Town of Hubbardston spent $2.2 million on payroll in 2023: who earned the most?

Only four out of the 115 employees on the Hubbardston town payroll brought home six-figure paychecks in fiscal year 2023.

Three of the four highest earners are town police officers. None of the top ten earners are female employees. The town spent $2,215,913 on the fiscal 2023 payroll. Nathan Boudreau, the town administrator, whose annual salary is $106,896, only earned $58,333 because he was not employed by the town for the full fiscal year.

The town's total payroll increased by $276,209. Hubbardston had 98 employees on the fiscal 2022 payroll, and all the earnings totaled $2,008,086. Town employee earnings data are the total of the employee's base salary plus any applicable overtime in the 2023 fiscal year. Data provided by the town did not separate overtime from regular earnings.

Hubbardston's schools are part of the Quabbin Regional School District, so there are no school employees in the town data.

Who are Hubbardston's top earners?

Police Officer Donald Blood was the highest-paid town employee, with earnings of $173,560. Following Blood is Officer Robert Forte at $157,285. The third highest-paid town employee is Christopher Bergeron, who earned $152,130.

The police chief, Ryan Couture, is the fourth highest-paid employee, with a salary of $104,077. Following Couture is firefighter Troy Casey, who earned $98,405. Fire chief Roberts Hayes Jr. is the sixth highest-paid employee with a salary of $96,324.

In seventh place for top-earners is Travis Brown, the Director of Hubbardston Department of Public Works, with a salary of $90,368. Brown is the only one of the top ten earners not working in the fire or police departments.

Following Brown is firefighter Jeremy Goscila, who earned of $78,877. In ninth place for top earners is firefighter James Ares, at $77,855, and in tenth place is Andrew Bresciani, a police officer who earned $65,882.

The highest-paid female employee is Sandra Nason, town treasurer and collector, with a salary of $65,746. Nason is 11th of the town's top 20 earners. The second highest-paid female employee is Roberta Thibault, town treasurer and collector assistant. Thibault is 18th in the top 20 earners and earned $43,354.
