Tory Burch Spring 2018: A vibrant, pristine ode to bold interior designer David Hicks

There's no question about it: You know a Tory Burch collection the second you see it.

She has that particular touch that sends her aesthetic through every single element of the show -- in the accessories, the separates, the dresses, the shoes ... but also the location.

Debuted in the gorgeously arranged garden outside the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the crisp September morning was a perfect setting for Burch's latest show.

Spring 2018 was inspired by the lasting impact that David Hicks had on interior design, and as her muse, his influence blended perfectly into her own.

"His fearless and witty take on color and print, and his exquisite attention to detail, have made a lasting impression on our brand and on me," she said.

Burch was given access to to the legendary designer's library by his daughter, Ashley, and it's clear why she loves his work. Looking at Hicks's vibrant colors and the bold patterns, the design taste of the two are quite closely aligned -- even down to their intertwining logos of H's and T's.

It was a collection shown in a perfect summery palette: featuring plenty of white, pale blues and shades of orange -- in contrast to the pinks and greens of Spring 2017 -- that felt fresh and entirely new. Light, airy silhouettes will keep the Tory Burch woman cool in the summer temperatures, and had us dreaming of holding onto this gorgeous end-of-season warmth just a bit longer.
