Tornadoes reported around the Quad Cities area

UPDATE: The National Weather Service is still trying to get to Coyne Center this afternoon to survey the damage there. They have already confirmed a tornado near Wellman, IA with winds of about 100 miles per hour this morning. They’re also investigating what could have been a tornado near Lone Tree, IA and are hoping to get to Coyne Center today.

Previous Post: It’s been an active Friday morning with tornadoes and strong winds wreaking havoc for the morning commute.

At least 3 tornadoes were reported early today. Twisters were spotted in Coyne Center, Hooppole and Green River (all in Illinois.)

Survey crews from the National Weather Service will survey damage, possibly even today.

We’ll have more info on the strength of these tornadoes at it becomes available today.
