Tornado watch issued in Le Flore County, Oklahoma Thursday

A tornado watch was issued for Le Flore County, Oklahoma Thursday, and the northeast end of the watch area bordered Fort Smith.

Severe storms are possible from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Fort Smith, The National Weather Service reported.

A tornado watch was issued for 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in an area that covered southern, southeastern and eastern parts of Oklahoma, including Arkoma.

Severe storms were in the forecast for an area of northeast Texas, southeast Oklahoma, northwest Louisiana and southwest Arkansas Thursday and Thursday night.

A cold front was moving into western Arkansas Thursday, and a freeze warning was issued for areas east of Fort Smith.
