A tornado watch is when the atmosphere has all the ingredients of a tornado, but there may not be one that forms. Simply put: Watch the sky and weather alerts in case severe weather forms.

If there’s a tornado warning, that means the severe weather is here now and you need to seek shelter immediately.

Large hail is the top concern with these storms, and strong winds and isolated tornadoes are lower threats. We’ll have to watch out for some flash flooding as well, since new storms could develop off of old ones, dumping heavy rain.

Additional rain and a few storms are possible Thursday before a cold front moves in during the afternoon. Thankfully, quiet and cooler weather returns for the weekend.

FOX4 will update this story if more severe weather develops Wednesday night.
