These are the top public elementary schools in the Sacramento area, Niche says

There are several factors to consider when choosing the right school for your little ones — from the environment to proximity to your home — and Niche wants to help narrow the search.

According to the ranking reviewing site, formerly known as College Prowler, the top 10 public elementary schools in the Sacramento area are in the suburbs.

Rocklin Academy Meyers in Rocklin ranked No. 1 on Niche’s list with an A+ rating. Robert E. Willett Elementary School in Davis and Valley View Elementary School in Rocklin followed closely behind with an A.

The list is compiled using data from the U.S. Department of Education and reviews from millions of students and parents. Schools are then ranked on a grade scale, D- to A+, based on diversity, state assessment scores, the student-to-teacher ratio, the quality of the school district and its teachers, and grade school ratings.

These Sacramento-area school districts are among the most diverse in America, Niche says
