New ‘Top Gear’ season begins March 3 on BBC America

The new season of BBC "Top Gear" is about to hit UK TV screens. As mentioned by the show's Twitter account, the first episode will be shown on Sunday, Feb. 25. It will be the third season of the show with the current cast, and the second without Chris Evans. For U.S. viewers, the first episode of season 25 will be broadcast on BBC America on March 3.

The last season, strongly competing with Amazon's "The Grand Tour," seemed like the new main crew of Chris Harris, Matt LeBlanc and Rory Reid had finally found their groove — and there certainly are hopes that this year's "Top Gear" continues on that upward trajectory. The teaser trailer tweeted today at least hints of the upcoming shenanigans; highlights of the new season include a triple test between a Hennessey-tuned Mustang GT350R, the Jaguar F-Type SVR and a McLaren 570 GT.

Not long ago we received news that an Alpine A110, which was being filmed for the show, caught fire at a Monte Carlo rally stage, so the show isn't without its challenges. Luckily both Chris Harris and Eddie Jordan escaped the burning sports car without injury.

Finally, here's the previous teaser to the new season, released a few days ago:
