It Took 17 Seconds for the Chicago Blackhawks to Make Hockey History
With just over a minute to go in last night's Stanley Cup Finals game, it looked like the Boston Bruins were on their way to forcing a deciding Game 7. Then the Blackhawks broke their hearts. Down 2-1 with 1:16 left to play in Game 6, Chicago scored two surprising goals in just 17 seconds to swipe the Cup away in stunning fashion.

After struggling all night to get past Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask, it looked almost certain that Blackhawks would be heading home to Chicago for one more game. Then just seconds after pulling the goalie to add an extra attacker, captain Jonathan Toews found Bryan Bickell in front of the net for a game-tying goal. At that point, it seemed the two teams were headed to the fourth overtime game of this Finals series, but then Chicago found a way to strike once again.

Dave Bolland slammed home the rebound with under a minute to play and Blackhawks went from almost certain defeat to ultimate glory in the blink of an eye. And the gut-punched Boston fans searched desperately for a silver lining....

It was the first Cup for Chicago since 2010, their fifth all-time, and winger Patrick Kane won the Conn Smythe Trophy for the Most Valuable Player of the playoffs.
