Tommy Flanagan Sings Along With ‘The Ballad Of Lefty Brown’; Thomas Mann Joins ‘Lean On Pete’

Sons Of Anarchy alum Tommy Flanagan has joined the cast of The Ballad of Lefty Brown, a period film set in 1889 after Congress declared the frontier closed. He joins Bill Pullman, Jim Caviezel, Peter Fonda and Kathy Baker in the film, written and directed by Jared Moshé. Flanagan plays Tom Harrah, a U.S. marshal, and once-great gunfighter who is struggling to stay on the wagon. Neda Armian, Edward Parks and Ryan Lewis are producing. Flanagan spent seven seasons playing Chibs Telford on the FX biker-gang series. Up next for him are Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 and the Iraq War film Sand Castle. He is repped by Gersh, the Curtis Brown Group in the UK, and Untitled Entertainment.

Thomas Mann has boarded Andrew Haigh’s Lean on Pete, joining Charlie Plummer, Choe Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Travis Fimmell, and Steve Zahn. The pic is about a young boy’s perilous journey in search of his long-lost aunt and a possible home with a stolen racehorse. Mann plays Lonnie, a gregarious ex-Mormon who sees the world for what it is — tough, unfair and always something to battle against. He also recently joined the cast of the stage remake of Dead Poets Society. Mann, repped by Innovative and Industry Entertainment, will be seen in Warner Bros’ upcoming Kong: Skull Island.

Canadian actor Marc-André Grondin has landed the starring role in horror thriller Ravenous (Les Affames), written and directed by Robin Aubert. The film, which is shooting in Quebec, revolves around a group of rural villagers as they try to escape their family and friends, who have turned into flesh-eating predators. Stéphanie Morissette’s La Maison de Prod is producing the pic and Seville Pictures will distribute the film in Canada. Grondin’s film credits include C.R.A.Z.Y and hockey comedy Goon.
