Dress for Success Palm Beach has named an island power couple as the recipients of the organization's Style Icon award, to be presented at the 10th annual fundraising luncheon in March.

International fashion icons, philanthropists and Palm Beach residents Tommy and Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger will receive the award during Dress for Success' Style for Hope Fundraising Luncheon, scheduled this year for March 15 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.

In a joint statement, the Hilfigers said they are honored to be recognized by the nonprofit, which seeks to aid women in achieving economic independence by providing professional attire, support and career-development tools.

"The organization's mission to empower and inspire has impacted the lives of so many deserving women and their families," the Hilfigers said. "We look forward to joining their efforts to create a world where women can reach their full potential."

Past winners of the Style Icon award include Iris Apfel and Lilly Pulitzer. James Mischka and Mark Badgley were honored earlier this year and will be honorary chairs for next year's luncheon, Dress for Success said.

“When we first conceived the Style Icon award, it was with an eye toward acknowledging genuine trailblazers from the fashion world who are inspiring role models and who also happen to be part of our local South Florida community,” Dress for Success board member Esther Perman said.

"In naming Tommy Hilfiger and Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger, we’re privileged to be spotlighting multihyphenate achievers who, individually and collectively, share the Dress for Success commitment to support women as they overcome economic disparity."

Perman will co-chair the luncheon with former board member Denise O'Sullivan.

The Hilfigers have built a fashion empire, both with Tommy Hilfiger's iconic namesake brand and Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger's luxury fashion label.

The couple are also active philanthropists, with their TommyCares nonprofit supporting organizations including the Fashion Minority Alliance, Save the Children and the World Wildlife Fund.

The Style for Hope luncheon will include an award for the Dress for Success Palm Beach volunteer of the year.
