The New England Patriots’ star quarterback, Tom Brady, has quite the career resume. So what happens after this season if the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl and Brady gets his fifth ring? Brady is suspended for the first quarter of the season for his alleged involvement in the Deflategate scandal. Some have feared that the Deflategate involvement would somehow tarnish Brady’s accomplishments. Even if he was involved, his numbers speak for themselves.
So this leads to the question, should Brady retire if the New England Patriots win the Super Bowl? Should he go out on a high note and retire as a champion even if he still has the skills to be an elite quarterback in the NFL?
The problem for Tom Brady is when will he be satisfied and content with his career? I mean, the man has all the accomplishments of the greatest quarterbacks ever and it seems that if he were to complete another Super Bowl season, he may depart from the NFL and retire a champion.
But why? If he can still play, should he still be out on the field? NFL fans saw the deterioration of Peyton Manning as his career ended. Manning had to deal with injury more than Brady, however.
Retirement seems to be a postponed luxury for Tom Brady as he still plays the game at an elite level at a senior age. The real question will be, are five Super Bowl rings enough for Tom Brady?
