Tom Brady jogged onto the field Tuesday in his usual New England Patriots practice jersey. His appearance at minicamp in Foxborough marked his first since the Super Bowl. Brady had missed a number of voluntary workouts, workouts he has often stressed as important.
Asked Thursday why he missed those workouts, Brady cited “personal reasons.”
“But I’m here now,” he told reporters, “and focused on what I need to do as I always am.”

Speculation as to why Brady was absent from the voluntary workouts has revolved around the tension between he and coach Bill Belichick. The tension relates to the coach’s decision to reportedly ban Brady’s trainer and business partner, Alex Guerrero, from flying with the team and standing on the sidelines during games.
Brady was asked whether Belichick was included in those aforementioned “personal reasons.”
“Not at all,” Brady said Thursday. “No. No.”
Belichick was asked earlier this week about his relationship with Brady. He called it “good.”
Brady, who was asked about their relationship Thursday, called it “great.”
“We’ve always had a great relationship,” Brady added. “I’ve been here for a long time, and I love this team. I love this organization. I love playing quarterback for them. I loved it last year, and I’m having a lot of fun now.”
