The Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police said 74% of car seats and booster seats are used incorrectly. So the organization is teaming up with the Tolono FPD to host the event on Wednesday at Station 1, located at 214 North Bourne Street. From 4 to 6 p.m., people can have their children’s car seats checked for proper use and installation.

People are asked to bring the children who will be riding in the car seat, along with the vehicle owner’s manual and the car seat instruction manual, if possible. They should allow for 30 minutes per car seat.
