Toddler shot in head at Cheatham County home

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A toddler was shot in the head Monday afternoon at a home in Cheatham County.

Cheatham County Sheriff Tim Binkley told News 2 the shooting happened at around 2 p.m. Monday, April 29 at a home on Hazel Drive.

The toddler, identified as a 3-year-old boy, was shot in the head and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center via LifeFlight helicopter, according to authorities.

The sheriff said the child is in critical condition and one other person was at the home at the time of the shooting. At this time, the shooting appears to be accidental.
