Toddler in critical condition after fall from Sioux Falls hotel window

Authorities with the Sioux Falls Police Department say a Minnesota toddler was seriously hurt after falling from a third-story hotel window within the city this weekend.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens said officers were called at about 9 a.m. Saturday to a hotel in the 2300 block of South Louise Avenue, where the 1-year-old child had fallen from the window.

Clemens said nearby witnesses with medical training provided medical attention before the child was taken to an area hospital, adding the child had a pulse but was not responsive.

A GoFundMe page set up for the child's family had raised more than $40,000 as of Monday morning, and stated that the child was in critical condition.

Clemens said the incident was under investigation, but that it appeared to be an accident.
