Officials hoped to learn new information with more people being home during the weekend and able to more thoroughly search their properties.

“We had really hoped that today, since everybody — or a lot of people — would be at home during the daytime hours, where they hadn’t been all week, that they would have an opportunity to search their property, search their farms. There’s a lot of farmland around here,” said Ken Weidner, director of Sumner County Emergency Management Agency (EMA). “You know, we expect to find people, so we don’t expect to not be able to find that child or that parent and Sebastian in this case.”

During a Thursday, Feb. 29 press conference, first responders urged residents in the Beech High School area to check their properties in pairs and look into any confined spaces.

Officials encourage community members to check their sheds, in their garages, under tarps, in dense brush, etc. — in other words, places where a child could seek shelter or accidentally get trapped — as well as go through any surveillance footage.

“We’re asking everyone in the area to meticulously review footage from security and trail cameras,” the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook Saturday afternoon. “Please focus on the timeframe from SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY MORNING. We believe even the smallest detail could be the key to locating Sebastian.”

If you see any movements, vehicles, or individuals in that footage, you are asked to register online and send an email to bcarter@sumnersheriff.com, or call (615) 442-1865 so law enforcement can physically retrieve the footage.

Authorities told News 2 that Sebastian enjoys fishing, he loves cats, and green is believed to be his favorite color.

In a call for solidarity, Sumner County residents wore the color green on Friday, March 1 to show their support for Sebastian and his family.

The search for the missing 15-year-old resumed Saturday around 7 a.m., entering its sixth day.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) shared pictures on Saturday showing personnel assisting in the search. According to the agency, officers in region II have been coordinating directly with the Sumner County EMA to help look along waterways and wooded areas.

The sheriff’s office told News 2 that an anonymous group of business owners in the Nashville area pledged a minimum cash reward of $3,000 for information that helps investigators find Sebastian.

No other information has been released.
