TLC Brings ‘Amish’ to Los Angeles

Same formula, new city.

TLC is bringing “Breaking Amish” back to the airwaves this summer, this time in Los Angeles. From Hot Snakes Media, “Breaking Amish: LA” will follow five young adults, who grew up Amish or Mennonite, as they leave their rural communities for the metropolitan landscape of Los Angeles.

Cabler will bow the first seg of the 10-episode series on July 21 at 10 p.m.

“LA” iteration, with an all-new cast, is a follow up to last summer’s “Breaking Amish,” which took place in Gotham and led to allegations that the Hot Snakes-produced show wasn’t authentic, and that the cast wasn’t as Amish as initially conveyed.

Original “Breaking Amish” led not only to “LA” spinoff but also a follow up series, “Breaking Amish: Brave New World.”
