Timmonsville man accused of sex crime with minor, deputies say

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 54-year-old Timmonsville man is accused of having sexual conduct with a minor between the age of 8 and 10-years-old, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Russell Joseph Correia was arrested Thursday and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office allege that between July 2019 and October 2021, Correia committed sexual battery on a victim between the age of 8 and 10 years old at a home on Fork Road in Effingham.

Correia is being held at the Florence County Detention Center without bond, according to online booking records.
