Timelapse Captures Milky Way Swirling Over Western Australia

The Milky Way illuminated the night sky over Kimberley, Western Australia, during June, as the dry season brought clear conditions to the region.

Timelapse footage captured by Geoff Green shows the cosmos lighting the sky blue as it swirled over rocks, lakes, and trees.

Speaking to Storyful, Green said the three clips in this video were recorded in east Kimberley in areas bordering the Northern Territory and the Tanami Desert.

Green often records footage showing the Milky Way moving through the sky, which is an annual occurrence during the dry season.

He regularly films videos on a Nikon D800 and often uses a Sigma 14mm lens. Credit: Geoff Green via Storyful
