Timeful review

An adaptive calendar, Timeful can combine information from all your existing calendars. In addition, it helps you schedule the things that you should be doing -- like exercising -- through the use of a customizable "habits" feature.

Pros

Fine customization: Timeful allows you to fine-tune your calendar to display exactly what you want it to. For example, you can display items from your personal calendars and not a Google Calendar integrated with your email address for work.

Beautiful display: The display is great, and even easier to read than the native iCal app. With a glance you can see what tasks you have coming up, and a color-coding system helps you determine the types of tasks without having to read them in detail.

To-do scheduling: Timeful uses a clever drag-and-drop interface for scheduling your to-do tasks. While viewing your set calendar, your to-do items appear at the top of the screen. You then can drag them into any gaps that have the required amount of time you think it will take to get the item completed, or you can tap them to delay the task until the following day.

Suggestions: The app can make helpful suggestions based on your previous schedules. For instance, if you've called someone on a specific evening of the week before, and have an opening in your schedule at that time again, it may suggest that you complete that same task.

Cons

Learning curve: It does take a little bit of time to learn everything that is hidden within this app. There are some options for customization that you have to dig into the settings to find, such as setting your typical sleeping hours.

Bottom Line

While iOS boasts dozens of good scheduling apps, Timeful turns out to be one of the best looking and most useful of them. The ability to sync all of your calendars and then have predictive activities such as a workout or a phone call added to your schedule helps make it a scheduler that can even outsmart your own ability to forget things.
