TikTok roasts New York City apartment selling for ‘just’ $22 million: ‘What a waste of money’

Just about anyone who doesn’t live in New York City cringes at the cost of housing. Actually, most New Yorkers cringe too.

That’s why it makes sense that TikTok is absolutely roasting a $22 million condo nestled in the city’s so-called “Billionaire’s Row” — a street of luxury residential buildings near Central Park South. Just like every piece of New York property, it’s small, overpriced and nothing special.

Here are some of my favorite Earth-friendly products that bring the chill:

Luxury real estate agent Nicole Gary shared a tour of the eight-figure apartment. It featured a living room with two large floor-to-ceiling windows, a similarly designed smaller bedroom, a sizable kitchen and a medium-sized bathroom.

TikTok users were eager to share their disappointment about the expensive apartment. The clip racked up 3.4 million views.

“$22 million for something without a backyard,” one person wrote.

“What a waste of money,” someone commented.

“The most expensive closet with a view I’ve ever seen,” another wrote.

New York City housing is notoriously expensive with very little space. The median rent for a one-bedroom is actually down 12 percent from last year at $2,560. The city is essentially experiencing a housing crisis. There is just too many people here and not enough space. Scarcity creates demand, which hikes up the prices along with gentrification.
