Tiffany Trump Takes the Stage at RNC as She Praises Father Donald for Being 'Friendly, Considerate, Funny, and Real'

It was another busy night in Cleveland for the Republican Party.

Not only did Donald Trump officially clinch the Republican nomination for president, lots of big names took the stage at the Quicken Loans arena on Tuesday night, including Jeff Sessions, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and Chris Christie.

In addition to these famous Republicans, a few members of Trump's own family took the stage: daughter Tiffany and son Donald Jr.

Tiffany was the first Trump child to speak at the convention (his wife, Melania, gave a talked-about speech last night), and the recent college graduate – she got her degree from the University of Pennsylvania a few months ago – admitted she was a little nervous, even with mom Maria Maples in the crowd.



"I never expected to be here, addressing the nation," she said. "I've given a few speeches in classrooms, but never in an arena with 11 million people watching."

Tiffany spoke of her father's strengths outside the office and political arena – as a parent.

"For me, the measure of a parent is how much they bolster you when you're down," she said, telling the audience that her father had always supported her. In particular, she spoke of a moment a few years ago when Trump comforted her after the death of a close friend.

"Without his support, I don't know how I would have made it through," she said.

Tiffany said she is always excited to introduce her friends to her father – especially those who have preconceived notions about him. Her friends, she says, find Trump to be "so friendly, considerate, funny, and real."

Just like his younger sister, Donald Jr. took the stage to sing his father's praises, calling him "my mentor, my best friend, my father."

Donald Jr. touted his father's willingness to tackle the "impossible" and what Donald Jr. described as his ability to see beyond the superficial and tap into a person's potential as a quality that would make him a great president.

"He sees the potential that other people don't see in themselves," he said.

He went on to discuss how Trump made him and his two siblings, Ivanka and Eric, work for these same people at the start of their careers, teaching them the nitty-gritty of the construction business.

"We didn't learn from MBAs," he said. "We learned from people who have doctorates in common sense."

"We're the only children of billionaires as comfortable in D-10 Caterpillars as we are in our own cars."

And much like the elected officials who spoke before him, Donald Jr. spent a good chunk of his speech criticizing Hillary Clinton.

"If Hillary Clinton were elected, she'd be the president who couldn't pass a basic background check," he said. "It's incredible. She's a risk Americans can't afford to take."

Regardless of what the rest of America thinks, tonight's speeches prove that Trump definitely has a strong fanbase at home – and the Trump family is just getting started.

Tomorrow, Eric Trump will speak on the convention's third night. And on Thursday, just before Trump himself formally accepts the nomination, his eldest daughter Ivanka will introduce him.
