Tiffany Haddish Re-Wore Her White SNL and Oscars Dress at the MTV Movie & TV Awards

First dress was in honor of my father. That's from HT Fashion, from Eritrea. Next dress, Alexander McQueen. I paid $4,000 for that. That was my third time wearing it in public, but my 17th time wearing it. Hey. Then, this dress right here by Brandon Maxwell, that he made for me. And I feel beautiful in it. She ready.

Can someone please find out where exactly Tiffany Haddish gets her dry cleaning done? Whoever's handling it has been doing an ace job—especially with that white dress, which has been cleaned and pressed over and over again. For Monday night's 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards, she wore the $4,000 Alexander McQueen gown for the fourth time.

Haddish wore seven costumes during the show and hilariously introduced the McQueen design by saying, “Welcome back and welcome back to my Alexander McQueen dress...again." Law Roach, her stylist, previously told InStyle she planned to wear the look once again. “It’s been a long running joke about her getting her money out of that dress,” he said. "I thought it would be cool for her to wear something that she wore again but also things that other people have worn before.”

It’s a huge deal that the actress and comedian, 38, scored summer’s biggest hosting gig—a win for women of color in entertainment. And though she could have skipped the white dress to add another luxe designer to her rotation (perhaps a little Givenchy, à la Meghan Markle?), we really wanted her to bring it back. For months, Haddish has been recycling, repurposing, and dry cleaning her flattering, high-slit halter neck McQueen design. If you spend thousands on one dress, wouldn’t you wear it ‘til the seams ripped apart?

Haddish first made us laugh about the dress last November when she hosted Saturday Night Live in the same look she wore to a promotional Girls Trip event months earlier. In her opening monologue, she joked about why she couldn’t care less about how taboo it is for a celeb to whip out the same red carpet dress, again. “I don’t give a dang about no taboo. I spent a lot of money on this dress. This dress cost way more than my mortgage. This a Alexander McQueen, okay?” she said, adding that she planned to rewear it “multiple times.”

She kept her promise, donning it twice on SNL, but also letting it find the spotlight during Hollywood's most glamorous night: the Oscars. To present an award alongside Maya Rudolph in March, she turned to the McQueen design, this time saying buh-bye to her heels, and instead styling the look with an accessory fashion traditionalists would consider a faux pas: Ugg slides.

Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we had a feeling that she would return in the McQueen dress for the MTV Movie & TV Awards last week. Luckily, we were right.
