Thursday Outlook: Near-90 temps as heat cranks up around Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Temperatures are a bit cooler this morning as lows have dipped into the low 60s and 50s under clearing skies. Sunshine will dominate this afternoon as we ramp up into the upper 80s with light winds out of the west-northwest.

Thursday will peak near 88 degrees and can even touch 90 degrees in some spots. We’ll cool off overnight into the low 60s before clouds return heading into Friday.

We’ll likely finish off the work week with a mix of sun and clouds as highs make a run for the mid-80s. An approaching cold front will spark an unsettled pattern for the weekend, first bringing the threat of showers and isolated storms Friday afternoon and evening.

Friday night will dip into the low 60s with Saturday kicking off the weekend in the 70s. The cool down continues as the 60s take hold Sunday and storms roll in late in the day. We’ll kick off next week with mid-60s on Monday and showers tapering off early in the morning.

A warm-up takes hold next week with Monday’s 60s turning into Wednesday’s 70s.
