We get a drier break on Thursday before more unsettled weather returns for the weekend. The best (small) chance of seeing any rain Thursday will be in the mountains and northern tier of the Tarheel state. Friday, the next system will approach with scattered showers and storms developing by evening.

The weekend doesn’t look like a total washout, with some dry breaks here and there, but plan for more developing showers and storms through the afternoons and evenings.

Tonight: Patchy fog. Low 61.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. High 82.
