Three people arrested for Loma burglary

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) — Several law enforcement agencies worked together to arrest three people in connection to a January 20 burglary that happened at a home-based gunsmithing business.

Investigators found photos on social media of a suspect in possession of several of the reportedly stolen firearms. Law enforcement contacted the suspect, 24-year-old Raymon Chavez at his house in the 1700 Block of Juniper Court and found a stolen fully automatic rifle in plain view in Chavez’s vehicle.

A later high-risk traffic stop yielded more stolen firearms. Law enforcement found two stolen guns in a car driven by 24-year-old Leonel Valencia. One firearm was stolen from the Loma house, and another from an ongoing GJPD investigation.

Law enforcement arrested the third and final suspect, 28-year-old Adrian Damaso in the 2800 Block of Alti Vista Drive while executing a search warrant.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with the Colorado State Patrol, Parole, the ATF and the DEA to arrest the three suspects and retrieve the weapons.

Investigators recovered 15 of 17 weapons and all four suppressors that were reported stolen from the home-based gunsmithing business in Fruita. Law enforcement also found two guns related to GJPD cases.
