Three Nittany Lions to play in Super Bowl LVIII

LAS VEGAS, Nv. (WHTM) – Penn State will be represented in Super Bowl LVIII with three former Nittany Lions on the rosters for the big game.

The San Francisco 49ers have two Penn State alum on their roster with defensive tackle Kevin Givens and safety Ji’Ayir Brown.

Givens has played for the 49ers since 2019 and posted 23 tackles (13 solo) and 1.5 sacks this season. In his five-year NFL career, Givens has totaled 80 tackles (46 solo) and 4.5 sacks.

The Altoona, Pennsylvania native tallied 83 tackles (40 solo) and 13.5 sacks during his tenure as a Nittany Lion.

Brown, who was drafted in 2023 in the third round by San Francisco, put up 35 tackles (22 solo) in his rookie season with two interceptions and four passes defended. Brown accumulated 153 tackles (122 solo) and 4.5 sacks from 2020-2022 for Penn State.

Donovan Smith is representing the Nittany Lions at offensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs. Smith was drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is in his first season with the Chiefs.
