Three Missourians arrested, suspected of threatening Kansas school

YATES CENTER, Kan. — Three Missourians are arrested in connection to a recent school threat investigation in Kansas.

School canceled due to threat of violence

Last week on March 7, Yates Center Schools canceled all school activities after a threat the day before towards Yates Center High School. In a joint investigation afterwards by the town’s police department and Woodson County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were able to identify the individuals they believe are responsible.

On March 13, with help from Lee Summit, Missouri authorities three people were brought into custody in connection to the incident, and facing extradition back into Kansas.

The individuals face terrorism and aggravated criminal threat charges.

The investigation remains ongoing.
