Three killed as Russia attacks Odesa with ballistic missiles for the second day in a row

Three people were killed and three others injured after Russia attacked Odesa with ballistic missiles on the evening of April 30, Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper said.

Medical assistance is being provided to those injured.

Civil infrastructure was damaged in the attack.

"Three people died in Odesa,” said Presidential Office head, Andriy Yermak, on the morning of May 1.

“Ballistic missiles hit a large, peaceful city at night. The terrorist country continues to kill Ukrainians. It is vital to ramp up weapons delivery."

Residential buildings were damaged as a result of the enemy's night attack - windows and doors were shattered, Odesa Mayor Hennadyi Trukhanov reported at 2:45 a.m. EET.

“Dear Odesa residents, as you see, Russia’s sacred dates have begun”, he said, referring to Easter week as Ukraine gets set to mark Easter on May 5.

"Russia is launching ballistic missiles against us for the second day in a row.”

He urged civilians to pay attention to air raid alarms and stay in shelters.

Russian attack on Odesa on April 29

Five people were killed, including deputy rector Borys Vasyliev, and 32 others were injured in a Russian missile strike on the International Humanitarian University, popularly known as the "Harry Potter Castle", in southern Odesa on April 29.

Serhii Kivalov, the academy’s president and former Ukrainian MP was also injured.
