Three killed in Covington County crash

COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — Three women from Tennessee were killed in Covington County over the weekend in a three-vehicle crash.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, on Sunday morning, a 2015 Ford F150 was driving down Highway 28 near Andalusia when the truck hit a 2022 Honda Passport. The truck continued down the road and collided head-on with a Hyundai Genesis.

Troopers say the driver of the Genesis, 89-year-old Evelyn S. Hnott, and the passengers, 67-year-old Deborah B. Wall and 65-year-old Linda J. Alkasem were killed during the crash and pronounced dead on the scene. All three women were from Hendersonville, Tennessee.

The driver of the Ford F150, a 60-year-old man from Milton, Florida, was injured and was transported to Andalusia Health for medical treatment. The driver’s condition is unknown.

The driver of the Honda Passport, an 80-year-old woman from Memphis, Tennessee, was not injured in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation by the ALEA Highway Patrol Division.
