FOND DU LAC — Whether you own or rent your home in Fond du Lac or you plan to move in the future, the city wants your input for a housing study.

As part of the Housing Study & Action Plan, the public is invited to complete a housing survey to help city officials understand current and future housing needs.

The survey is available on the city's website until April 21.

The goal of the study is to create an action plan to provide housing opportunities for households of all types, ages and income levels, and the city is working with economic development consulting firm Camoin Associates to analyze the city's housing market, inventory existing housing resources, and identify gaps and future trends in the local housing market, eventually developing strategies to address the current and future needs of the community.

This will be the city's first detailed and comprehensive housing-related study, prompted by city leaders prioritizing development of a comprehensive housing strategy that addresses the needs in all types of housing at all price levels.

It is part of the updated Comprehensive Plan from January 2021 that contained a number of strategies for addressing housing supply and affordability issues.
