Thomson man dies after Gordon Highway crash

Local and state officials have launched an investigation into the recent death of a Thomson.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen reported via email that Charlie Brown, 58, died Saturday in the hospital after suffering a crash the day before.

Brown was a passenger in a single-vehicle crash at 7:53 a.m. on Gordon Highway. The crash was in a rural area near Harlem. Brown was taken to Doctors Hospital, where he died Saturday at 5:35 a.m.

An autopsy is scheduled with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
