Thomasville police seek hit-and-run driver

Jan. 18—THOMASVILLE — Investigators with the Thomasville Police Department are seeking the public's help to find the driver in a hit-and-run accident that injured a bicyclist on Dec. 21 at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Davidson Street.

Jacob Gidney, 24, of Thomasville was riding his bike north on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive about 6:15 p.m. when a gold-colored vehicle traveling south on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive turned left toward Davidson Street and struck Gidney, police say.

Gidney was treated at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center and released.

The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Davidson Street and should have front-end damage. Police said it's possible the vehicle travels in the area frequently.
