Squeezed in: Aftermath of the incident in Cornwall (SWNS)

Driving down narrow country roads can be tough enough at the best of times.

But when two cars tried to squeeze through a narrow gap on a Cornish country road, it all ended pretty badly.

The vehicles - a Vauxhall Astra and a Renault Megane - were sandwiched together, with one car ending up balanced on a hedgerow and the other jammed in against a bank.

A picture of the incident showed at least one car ended up with damage to the bodywork - and a blocked road.

The incident happened on a minor road in south east Cornwall, close to a village called Crafthole.

Police and firefighters were called but no one was injured, even if the cars took a bit of a bashing.

“A black Vauxhall Astra from Plymouth and a red Renault Megane from Millbrook, were involved but we had no reports of any injuries,” said a police spokesman.
