He’s just 3 months old, but Jack Wolfgram has already been recruited to Ohio State University.

The infant’s dad, OSU graduate Nick Wolfgram, wrote to the school’s esteemed football coach Urban Meyer when Jack was just 3 weeks old to tell Meyer that the infant is already a committed Buckeye, which he demonstrated with an adorable photo of the baby holding a team ball.

“I thought maybe throwing in some of his measurements might be fun, so I put he was 21 inches long, 8 pounds, 7 ounces,” Wolfgram tells ABC 6. “Then I said his 40 time is whatever speed mommy is driving at."

Meyer then ran with the play and surprised Jack’s dad and mom, Marissa Wolfgam, by responding to the tongue-in-cheek letter with one of his own, welcoming the baby to join the team.

“Dear Jack: You may consider me a little hasty in asking you to consider which college to attend, but we want to get an early start on beginning the tradition at The Ohio State University,” reads the coach’s note to the tot. “We will look for you to make your collegiate debut in 2033. You will need to gain a little weight, but our strength staff will take care of that!”

Jack’s mom Marissa tells Yahoo Parenting, “We appreciate Coach Meyer and The OSU athletic department taking the time to write us back.”

The parents already have a special place in mind for the memento, presumably to be preserved until baby Jack is old enough to claim a spot on the team in college. “We definitely plan on framing both letters,” she says. “Our basement has framed OSU newspapers and other memorabilia, this letter will be a nice addition.”

And though her husband jokes about being all set with Jack’s college plans — declaring, “As of right now [OSU’s rival University of] Michigan has not reached out with a scholarship offer so we are going to stay verbally committed to Ohio State” — Marissa says her son will always have a choice. Well, under one condition. “Jack is welcome to attend whatever college and cheer for whatever teams he likes as long as it’s not the school up north.”
