The parade begins at the corner of 19th and Wynkoop, turns left on 17th Street to Blake Street then marches east on Blake. The route ends on 27th and Blake at the Coors Field parking lot. The parade members are scheduled to step off at 9:30 a.m. on March 16.

With live music performances scheduled all afternoon, food trucks, unique vendors, a kids zone and adult libations, there’s something for everyone at the Arvada event. The event is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. in Olde Town Arvada.

Family-friendly events

On Friday, March 15 and 16 at 8:30 p.m., join Fortissimo’s for a dueling piano performance. The venue invites attendees to dress in green, white or orange and be prepared to dance a jig.

The venue is located at 891 14th St., #110. After 10 p.m. only people over 21 years old are allowed to be present.

Have a Celtic Awakening with Denver Brass as they perform sacred music rituals involving brass, bagpipes and dancing that early Celts believed would purify the soul. Denver Brass will be joined by Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drum, Celtic Steps Irish Dance School, Rocky Mountain Highland Dancers, Soprano Aubrey Jacobs and hammered dulcimer performer Joshua Messick.

The event is scheduled for 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday.

Bar crawls and celebrations

As you might have guessed, bar crawls and libation-based celebrations during St. Paddy’s Day weekend abound.

First up is the post-parade Shamrock the Block celebration in LoDo’s Dairy Block micro-district. The free event will have St. Patrick’s Day-themed food and drink specials, as well as performances by the Wick School of Irish Dance. Additionally, enjoy performances of Celtic classics by violinist Erik Fellenstein and guitarist Payden Widner from noon to 2 p.m.

Another post-parade option will be hosted at McGregor Square right after the Saturday morning parade. Wear your greenest outfits and prepare for performances by bagpipers and a DJ while enjoying green beer and other specials.

Nasstive is hosting St. Paddy’s-themed bar crawls on Saturday and Sunday, although attendees must buy tickets to join the festivities. That ticket gives you a wristband and access to drink specials at multiple venues within blocks of each other, according to the event hosts. Participating bars include the Jaguar Room, Tom’s Watch Bar, the Retro Room, Ginn Mill and more.
