Things are looking up for Rick in Walking Dead teaser
The seventh season of The Walking Dead was pretty grim all round – but fortunately, it looks like things are looking up come season 8.
It seemed the show had finally lightened up after the devastating deaths of Abraham and Glenn, in a mid-season finale that rallied the troops and all in all, was rather optimistic.
But come the season 7 finale, things once again looked bleak for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his band of loyal Alexandrians when they were duped by the Heapsters.

Fortunately, it seems the last minute arrival of Ezekiel, The Kingdom troops and Shiva has put Rick in a better mood.
Indeed, showrunner Scott M Gimple has confirmed Rick's mojo has been bumped back up to (series) regular levels in the forthcoming eighth season – and if you don't believe us, here's a brand new season 8 photo that shows Rick actually smiling.

Well, almost. This is Rick we're talking about, after all...
"His swagger is definitely back," Gimple told Entertainment Weekly. "But it's a measured swagger. It's a focused swagger. He absolutely has it and you will see it in episode 1."
OK, so the swagger is back, but what about that 'All Out War' we've been long-promised? Yep. That's finally happening, too.

"We have basically set the stage for All Out War," he added. "Negan's said it, everybody has seen they're in it.
"It will play out quickly and attentively and will shift around the focus quite a bit between the different places and battlegrounds and characters and communities."
Can't wait.
