Security video shows thief steal ATM from Southern California barbershop

A small business in Orange County is out several thousand dollars after a thief made off with an entire ATM in a crime that was captured on security video.

It occurred early Monday morning at Golden Touch Barbershop on North Tustin Avenue.

Surveillance cameras inside and outside the business show a driver in a white Dodge pickup truck pull up to the front of the business and break the glass with a crowbar.

The thief then attaches a strap to the ATM inside the barbershop, gets back into the truck, and puts it in Drive. After a few tries, the ATM comes loose and is dragged outside, where the thief loads it into the truck’s bed and drives off.

“We had about $5,000 in there, which kind of sucks because that’s money we have to put out of pocket,” manager Ulizez Suarez told news stringer service OC Hawk. “Now we have to wait for people to come and patch up the broken glass … They didn’t just break one glass [panel], they broke all four.”

The barbershop is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the thief’s arrest.
