These Adorable Candy Cane Centerpieces Will Bring Santa to the Kids’ Table
There’s no such thing as “too much” when it comes to using candy canes as decor during the holiday season.
These adorable red-and-white centerpieces whimsically evoke the presence of Santa at the kids’ table by pairing the sweet of the season with his iconic red hat.
This little DIY will take only about 10 minutes to put together but makes a statement that is greater than the sum of its parts.
So put those candy canes you have lying around to good use and set a place for the bearded man himself.
Materials:
Glass vases (preferably with a pedestal foot)
Straight candy cane sticks
Wooden dowel
Styrofoam cone
Santa hat
Red glitter balls/tiny ornaments
Thin red tinsel garland
3 or 4 straight pins
Glue dots
Tools:
Hot-glue gun (optional)

Instructions:
1. Glue-dot the dowel in the center of the glass vase. Alternatively, if you prefer, you could hot-glue it.
2. Fill the vase with the straight candy cane sticks so they stand upright around the inside wall of the vase.
3. Place the Santa hat on your styrofoam cone, and use the straight pins to make the hat fit snugly.
4. Pierce the cone down onto the wooden dowel.
5. Fill the inside of the vase, between the dowel and the candy canes, with tiny red ornaments.
6. Glue a ribbon of thin red tinsel around the rim of the glass vase, and place it on your table.
