There's no love lost between ESPN's Brock Huard and UCLA's Jim Mora

There’s a bit of animosity between UCLA’s Jim Mora and ESPN’s Brock Huard. At least on Mora’s side.

The UCLA coach was asked about Huard’s comments during UCLA’s game vs. Washington on Saturday. Huard, a former Washington quarterback, was calling the game for ESPN. UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen suffered a finger injury during the game and missed much of the second half.

That prompted these comments from Huard (via Awful Announcing) about how some in the NFL may view Rosen’s toughness.

Mora was asked Monday about comments made on the ESPN broadcast. Huard wasn’t identified in the first question, but it was clear that Mora knew of what Huard said.

“I’ve known Brock a long time,” Mora said.

Any reaction to Huard’s comments?

“To what Brock Huard says?” Mora dismissively asked. “No. No. No. No. I would put very little stock into what Brock Huard has to say about anything that has to do with football. That will be controversial. But it’s the truth … I’ve known that kid since he was in college.”

And are they on good terms?

“No, he’s not a friend of mine.”

Just look at Mora’s facial expression as he uttered “no” multiple times. Damn.

The finger injury Rosen suffered is to his non-throwing hand. Mora didn’t get into specifics about the injury but said Rosen would be possibly able to play even if he didn’t practice.
