Theater producer denies claims he molested teen

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A theater producer sued by a man accusing several Hollywood figures of sexual assault is denying the allegations or that he was in Hawaii when the alleged abuse happened.

Attorneys for Gary Goddard issued a statement Wednesday denying that the theater producer molested or gave drugs or alcohol to Michael Egan III. Egan sued Goddard and two other former entertainment industry executives Monday, claiming they raped him during a trip to Hawaii in 1999 when he was 17 years old.

Goddard's attorneys, Alan Grodin and Paul Gaspari, note that Egan did not include the executives in a 2000 lawsuit he filed in Los Angeles against a man later convicted of transporting five minors across state lines to have sex.

Egan's lawyer did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment Wednesday.
